Parkdale 4 + 4
Parkdale 4 + 4 is a four unit plus four suite rowhouse building designed for Gold Homes in Calgary’s Parkdale neighbourhood.
Parkdale Boulevard is a true boulevard. It is lined with trees, follows the Bow River, and provides the route for the #1 Bus, which follows the original route of the #1 streetcar that went to Bowness Park. The street is known for it’s clusters of historic homes, Lic’s ice cream shop, the Lazy Loaf diner, and more recently, some modest multi-residential projects like this one.
The Parkdale 4+4 is our response to the need for housing in an area that is close to downtown Calgary, the Foothills Hospital, and the University of Calgary. It provides four townhouses, each with a rooftop patio, plus four basement suites, each with their own sunken garden. Four private garages are accessed from the lane.
The partially arched entrances create a unique form for the upper floor where it appears to poise over the main floor with a light touch to the ground.
