Nelson House
Burnaby BC
The Nelson House project is a group home that provides comfortable and supportive living for individuals with disabilities. Designed to function like a single-family home, it accommodates four people in private bedrooms and includes a spacious common kitchen, dining, and living area, as well as a shared laundry facility for everyone to enjoy and find community in.
In addition to the four primary bedrooms, the design incorporates a self-contained suite for a person who can live more independently. This suite features its own kitchen, dining, living area, laundry, and a covered patio, offering greater autonomy while remaining connected to the broader household. A second covered patio extends from the shared living room, opening to a separate outdoor greenspace.
With private rooms and over 1,200 square feet of shared common areas, the Nelson House provides comfortable space for both privacy and community.
Our client, Community Living Society (CLS), supports individuals with developmental disabilities or acquired brain injuries by providing independent living options that promote meaningful and fulfilling lives. We are excited to be part of the team creating this home for folks to enjoy and thrive in!
