Permits and Contract Administration Coordinator

John is an architecture enthusiast who fell in love with the concept of transitioning ideas to paper and paper to reality. John joined Gravity as our Permits and Contract Administration Coordinator after graduating from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in May 2023. His passion for architecture is largely due to the industry’s evolving nature and how it pushes the boundaries of his creativity every day. 

John excelled during his studies at SAIT and worked on various projects there — one that involved designing a building on campus and required his team to work on an extremely tight timeline. This demonstrates John's keen eye for detail and ability to find solutions to problems quickly, and ensure a high standard is met. This tenacity is further demonstrated at Gravity where John is known for his strong conceptual thinking and focus within his work. He enjoys working with Revit and his favourite projects so far have been our Shaganappi Multi and Emerge Arbour Lake.

In his free time he is learning skills that he can apply to his personal and professional life. Some of these include editing photos and creating digital art with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. He grew up sketching and drawing and fell in love with games like Minecraft that offered him endless creative freedom. From childhood, John’s artistic influences led him to architecture as a definite career path. Since then, his appreciation of seeing buildings come to life has only grown. 

In addition to John’s active involvement with the arts, he loves to be outside either hiking or playing sports like soccer and volleyball. He is currently learning to play golf — yet another challenge he is up for!
