Lead Contract Administrator

Jay brings over 20 years of experience as an electrician, field service technician, construction foreman, and project auditor to his position at Gravity. 

He began his journey into the construction industry as an electrician in 1998. After obtaining his Red Seal in the electrical trade, he then acquired a Master’s certification and introductory training as a safety codes officer. Always looking to gain knowledge, Jay returned to school in 2009 obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Communications Studies from the University of Calgary.

To further satisfy his thirst for knowledge Jay enrolled in the Architectural Technologist program at SAIT and graduated in 2021, fulfilling his childhood aspiration to work in the field of architecture. Jay started as the Permits Coordinator at Gravity Architecture immediately after graduating. 

Within his first two years at Gravity, Jay had successfully coordinated and submitted almost 50 Development Permits, 35 Revised Plan applications, and nearly 500 Building Permit applications; taking a significant workload off the shoulders of our Project Management team. In the spring of 2023, he added contract administration to his duties providing a welcomed escape out into the field for project reviews becoming the Lead Contract Administrator in November of the same year.

Jay has lived in Calgary for over 20 years and enjoys the company of his wife and cats, renovating his 115 year-old home, cycling, skiing, and long drives in the countryside.
